VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLAR
We do not support mass factory production and fast fashion. In fact, we reject it. It is incredibly detrimental to the environment and highly degrading for the makers. According to the 2019 ‘Oxfam Made in Poverty Report’, nine out of ten workers interviewed in Bangladesh cannot afford enough food for themselves and their families, forcing them to regularly skip meals and eat inadequately, or go into debt. More shockingly, as evidenced in the 2019 Baptist World Aid report, only 9 percent of Australian fashion brands pay their workers a living wage! We could honestly go on and on with awful statistics however the message is still the same – something needs to change and fast.

Chamani solely works with artisanal communities and not-for-profit organisations as our suppliers in our value-chain, ensuring all makers not only have a happy, healthy, inspiring work environment but most importantly, are paid a fair, living wage.
